Prepaid debit cards. Now they want "security" check before... |
|
Edited on Sat Jul-15-06 02:47 PM by Neshanic
they activate one. I got one and loaded it with $100. After a refused charge of 20 bucks I called and was told that I need to fax my social security and proof of residence befor it would activate. I cancelled it. Has anyone heard of this? She said VISA does security checks on pre-paid debit cards.
It's insane.

1. Can't move money around without the govt sticking thier nose up your ass |

Cash is nice that way. Most web sellers will take a mailed payment (I like money orders better than checks for the purpose.) But you need to send in your information because you may be using your $100 prepaid card to launder money for terrorism or something. :grr:
Halt citizen! Your papers please.

2. If it is through your bank, I don't see why |

there should be a security check. Actually, I have never heard of pre-paid debit cards. If you have a checking account, your bank automatically issues you a debit card.
