"We are not responsible for money lost in these machines"... |
|
... I always see these signs at movie theater game rooms and restaurant game rooms... are people actually supposed to believe this shit? If the game is on the business' property, and they don't work, that business is supposed to make sure that they work. And they MUST refund lost money. Yes, you might get some kids who will make false claims of lost money, but that comes with the territory.

1. meanwhile, in the real world |

Some businesses mearly rent space to other companies that maintain the machine and yes, they are not responsible for refunding your money.
As an example, I had a computer shop and some guy owned a gumball machine that was in it. Be damned if it was my problem if it didn;t work, not that it ever did.

2. How is that so? ... there are two problems with this scenario... |
|
... 1) the video games are still on the other person's property, making it their problem, whether someone loses a quarter or if a little kid gets electrocuted... 2) Even thought someone else may own the machines, it still must be made possible for refunds to be obtained...
If you have a computer shop and you have a non-working gumball machine in their that doesn't work, even if it is owned by someone else, get that gumball machine out of there... you are responsible for it, whether you like it or not.
