Leonard Cohen: I'm Your Man |
|
In the middle of all the turmoil and bad news we went to see this movie.
We left it with mixed feelings. Leonard Cohen has such a deep rich voice that all the other singers appeared so amateur and weak.
Yet, it was interesting to learn about his history, the time that it takes him to write every single song and the admiration by all the performers. This was a tribute concert last year at the opera house in Sydney, Australia.
I like the Hallelujah that by now is considered a standard. Rufus Wainwright sang it but it sounded a bit weaker from recent sound tracks of Shrek, The West Wing and the O.C. (twice).
At the end, Leonard Cohen himself sand with U2, where Bono was the background!
We came home and then listened to a CD and enjoyed, again, his deep, rich voice.

your review aligns frighteningly well with my preconception.
Why bring in all these wankers? Do a Leonard Cohen movie. Fucking hell.
Anyway, thanks for the report.
