Not just over the war. Over all kinds of things that just don't seem to get better no matter what anybody does. Things in the outside world, and things in my own life. Sometimes there is no action that will not lead to defeat.

2. Much of it can't be helped |
|
Sometimes I know about things I wish I didn't, and there is no way to unsee it or to make it go away. The big issues, there's just no help for; nothing anyone can do is going to stop the war or make people compassionate.
The little issues, things specific to my life, also can't really be helped; I have exhausted every possible source of help already, and the problems that have caused the issues aren't going away. (As an example: my fine motor skills have been getting worse over the years because I have a tremor, so I can't take a job that requires steady hands which means vet tech training's out and so is waitressing. But I can't very well go chasing a fix for it because I owe so much in back medical bills already, and my insurance has decided that anything related to my depression--which this may be, as it started when I was on Wellbutrin for a while--is pre-existing and not covered.)
I had a really fun day yesterday, so I guess I'm just feeling the return to reality today. :-(

4. I'm sorry you're in a bad place now. |
|
I felt the same last night - totally overwhelmed, panicky, etc, for other reasons, but still, it is an awful place to be.
But - you are exceptionally bright; I've been posting here for over four years and it is just obvious from what you write, how you reply, your range of knowledge. If you are having fine motor skills issues, are there any kinds of research assistant jobs available? Is going back to school even an option? I know money is an issue, but if you were eligible for scholarships years ago, I don't see why you wouldn't be now. Do you live anywhere near a vet school? Could you work for the school in an administrative position? Do you live near any universities where you could work?
I don't mean to cause grief by asking ignorant questions. It's just that you so clearly have a first rate mind. Nothing wrong with waitressing, but damn it'd be nice if you could be using your noggin in your work.
