Well, I was going to post a photo and a link, but their site is heavy on cookies, so a direct link won't work. (Hell, I don't know how any of that works, whether it's cookies or .jsp or whatever, but it doesn't work.)

It's a microfiber blazer & pants. I think they're very nice. If you want to see, go to www.travelsmith.com and under "catalog quick order," key 6583. I ordered them in "stone."

Thanks to all!! :bounce:

1. I have one tomorrow
Edited on Sun Jul-16-06 07:16 PM by Sannum
I think I am going to die of heat exhaustion though. I am wearing a pleated black skirt, black top, and a white jacket with black leather slingback heels.

I just wanna stay in my jammies:(.

Good Luck!

5. Nice jacket. Good luck to both you ladies with the interviews.
I've had a few interviews and was "runner-up" on one job.
Will have to get out of the jammies and start making calls
early tomorrow morning.

18. Hi, Treclo! Thank you very much.
Full-time RVing, eh? Cool! I dream of owning one. When my beloved retires, we're going to move to California (from MD), and I was thinking of sending our stuff ahead and getting an RV for the drive. We will have a lot of cats to take with us . . .

Was it hard to learn to drive one of those things?

good imagery.

Very nice choice! If you like the way it fits/feels, buy the other color. "Savvy" shoppers will always tell you that if you find something that fits, flatters and feels good on (and as a bonus, is easy to care for), buy multiples so you always have something on-hand that you feel good in. That goes for shoes, bras, undies, suits, jeans, everything.

Best of luck! When are your interviews?

enjoying summer? You know, I don't think I saw the thread (if there was one) where you quit - what did the Dragon Lady boss have to say when you told her you weren't gonna take her sh*t anymore (or whatever you said)?

34. Enjoying it very much.
When I told her I was leaving, at first she said, "well, I think that's good, because your head hasn't been in the game for a long time." :wtf: I wish we had a :flipthebird: smiley. :eyes:

After a few days, she modified this by telling me she thought I was too smart for that kind of work. That is entirely true, but other things in life also dictate what one does for a living, no? It's not all about intelligence.

And after about a week, she started to realize what she was losing. I suspect that she went to the managing partner to ask for a huge raise for me, so I would stay. I myself told my supervisor (HR Personnel Director) that I would stay for a $15k raise and a parking space in the building. Although my staying would've made her life infinitely easier, she couldn't sell it.

Now I hear from my friends that Dragon Lady is on her third secretary -- since June 1.

I also hear from my closest friend there, by way of one of her attorneys who works closely with mine, that DL realizes that she herself drove me away. :woohoo: Oh, how she is lamenting losing me.

I guess that's a lot more than you asked. :)

35. no - love the detail!
it's always nice to be vindicated... and the stinginess of law firms just amazes me. $15K plus parking (probably the hardest sell) is NOTHING for a big firm. Sheesh.

36. "nothing for a big firm" - damn right.
But during last Evaluations, when raises were ridiculously lousy, they explained that they're trying to keep all secretaries paid about the same depending upon how many years at the firm. That's bogus! Some secretaries suck and some can move the world.

They're a bunch of jerks. Unless I get desperate I'm never going back to legal.

23. Those are GREAT!!!
I've been looking for a couple of nice blazers (the one I have is suddenly WAY too big, though my measurements haven't changed.... something's freaky....) and that one has a great line.

Let me know how it feels to wear for a couple hours in the humidity, please!!

Good luck, break a leg, knock 'em dead!

37. I'm ... curvy.
Itty bitty waist, child-bearing hips and a high-altitude ribcage (swim, run and play wind instruments at altitude and the ribs get BIG...)

So rarely does anything fit me without large amounts of alteration. Gotten used to it, though. I no longer look at sizes.

Please let me know how comfortable it is. It will look fabulous on you, if my mind's eye is correct, though.

with a blue chambray blouse.

Sorry, I forgot to say that last time. Travelsmith kind of expensive, but worth it.

I'm a little nervous. I've never worn a 28, but I'm really hoping this stuff fits well, because travelsmith doesn't HAVE 28.

I got some shoes too. They're kinda plain but they'll go.

That looks like a great interview outfit. Best of all if you find that it lives up to your expectations you can buy another set in a darker color for winter and mix up the components with other clothes in your wardrobe. It's always nice to have a couple of classic suits in the closet.
