Adam Kennedy becomes a free agent at the end of this season.

 He's only thirty! I detest when my favorite players leave the Halos.

Adam Kennedy, 2002 ALCS MVP and one of my favorite Angels ever. Solid second baseman, solid team player.

Boo hoo.

2. I felt the same way

2 years ago when Nomar Garciaparra was going to be a free agent, until he was traded to Chicago and made a lot of really nasty comments about his teammates and management on his way out of Boston. I'm glad he's finally getting career back on track now though.

I figure Kennedy has a pretty good chance of being moved by the deadline if the Halos don't think they can resign him. Hopefully, he'll take it better than Garciaparra did.

3. Yeah, I think they'll try for some more offensive power.
I guess I'd rather see my team win than Adam stay. But they can win with him! :grr:

Oh, well.

4. They HAVE to move him during the season - he won't see FA w/the Angels
Howie Kendrick had three hits yesterday, and he is going to be a 20 HR/.300 average player at 2nd base for a long long time, which is why everybody is asking for him in trade talks (well, him and Lackey and Santana).

Now, if I could only get (Angel GM) Stoneman to move Garret Anderson to the Yankees, move Chone Figgins anywhere and let Dallas McPherson take over full time at 3rd base then we might have something here.

Ah, baseball..... :)

5. GA will finish his career with the Halos. I have decreed it.
Shame on you for wanting to move ANY Angel to the Yankees. :puke:

Chone Figgins leads the league in steals! And he is a monster in the infield. He is also versatile; he reminds me a little of Bob Grich, who earned the nick "Dial-A-Glove." No way they deal Chone. He can play anywhere, not just 3rd.

:hi:

6. Hey, I'm a pragmatist
GA can't hit lefties anymore (hell, I'd even like Quinlan over GA when a lefty is pitching, and I don't like Quinlan). George is is dire need of outfield help, but I don't know if even he would take a flier on GA and his bad foot/feet/back.

Figgins has no power, and is BRUTAL with runers in scoring position. I would keep him around if he wanted to be a utility player, but he will command big dollars and a starting role due to his ability to steal bases. I mean, the guy is hitting .260 right now. He'll never hit .300, and that is what a slap hitter has to do to be effective.

Oh, and he's a way below average defensive player - shades of Chili "The Skillet" Davis in the outfield, although he did make a great running catch in CF a while ago.

C'mon, wouldn't Soriano look good setting up Vlad in the line-up? I'd overlook his adventures in the outfield -29 HR's will do that. Think Manny Ramirez, only younger.

7. . . . and I'm resistant to change. I guess i just don't like the way the
2002 World Champs team has already scattered. Eckstein hurt the most, then Glaus & Spezio . . .

Oh, well. Damn good thing I don't own a team. I'd run it into the ground.

And I really hate dealing "for a championship team." I realize all teams want to win, but the way the owners throw money around is disgusting.

Sigh.

8. The Glaus thing I didn't get at all
24 HR's with Toronto - how nice would that look right about now?

Eckstein was OK with me - Cabrerra is an update offensively, and as good or better defensively.

What gets me are the Rule 5 guys that Stoneman let get away - what the f&*k was he thinking when he let Bobby Jenks go??

And Derrick Turnbow???

Both now lead their respective leagues in saves.

Ack.
