Can't sing, have that weird twang thing going. Blech. Styx is much better. Ricky Martin is much better. Vanilla Ice... okay, I won't go that far.

41. I have a confession
I don't really dislike Led Zepplin, but I started to say them instead of Steely Dan, just for laughs. But I'm really, really afraid to make Lynne THAT mad! :scared:

Maybe I should have said James Taylor...

I can understand why people might dislike their later stuff, but "Reelin' in the Years" and "Bodhisattva," among others, are in no way even mildly elevator music.

37. On YouTube, search for "Steely Dan" videos.
There are some awesome live cuts, as well as the eight- or nine-minute-long "The Making of 'Peg'" from the Aja episode of Classic Albums. It's terrific.

I wouldn't want to live in a world where Styx didn't exist and suck.

26. Yup
I agree with the OP. Styx sux.

LynneSin, I saw your other thread about how every band has some halfway decent tune you can find to like. Styx hasn't got one for me. The closest I can get is a solo tune by Tommy Shaw, called "True Confessions," which sounds kinda like a weak version of "867-5309."

Actually I should mention Ted Nugent in your thread-- or maybe Damn Yankees, which you will recall was his collaborative project with Shaw.

53. as a Lady...I offer this...

Lady, when you're with me I'm smiling
Give me whoa all your love
Your hands build me up when I'm sinking
Just touch me and my troubles all fade

Lady, from the moment I saw you
Standing whoa all alone
You gave all the love that I needed
So shy, like a child who had grown

You're my lady of the morning
Love shines in your eyes
Sparkling, clear and lovely.
You're my lady

Lady, turn me on when I'm lonely
Show me all your charms
Evenings when you lay down beside me
Just take me gently into your arms

You're my Lady of the morning
Love shines in your eyes
Sparkling, clear and lovely
You're my lady

Lady of the morning
Love shines in your eyes
Sparkling, clear and lovely
You're my ... lady
