Who is the most disgusting form of human existence living today? |
|
SOmeone started a thread about Ralph Reed, but my vote would have to go to Fred Phelps. Anyone who can show up at a funeral of a dead soldier to push their homophobic attitudes doesn't deserve to share the oxygen with the rest of the world.
Who is your vote for the most disgusting form of human existence living today?

1. Define Human Existence? |
|
I have to assume since nobody has mentioned Dick Cheney yet in the Reed thread that one must be:
a.) provably alive. b.) not undead or a cyborg.
Which would rule out re-animated corpses like Cheney.
Outside of Cheney, I'll go with Richard Perle, father of the neo-conservative theory of perpetual war.

8. I actually knew that... |
|
a lot of the positions of left versus right were switched back then, in bizarre ways. If one had to classify him in the modern political spectrum, I'd argue he'd be a moderate today, probably a libertarian. I had a similar discussion with my Intro to Political theory professor.
For example:
William Jennings Bryan is considered a moderate to left thinker within his own scope of time, arguably the most powerful Democrat of his day, but the 20th century US president whose personal views come closest to those of Bryan's populism is...Ronald Reagan. Mencken had nothing nice to say about William J. Bryan and openly mocked him in the Baltimore Sun during the Scopes trial.
Theodore Roosevelt was a Republican, but the foremost progressive of his age. Rooseveltian progressivism is a major theoretical influence upon American liberalism, virtually no strand of it is still found in the modern GOP. Mencken really had nothing nice to say about Roosevelt whom he considered to be a buffoon.

2. You could be right on Phelps. Though Osama gets a definite nod, |
|
as do Shrubbie and Cheney, and then Falwell and Robertson and Dobson aren't too far behind, with Coulter, Limbaugh, and O'Reilly running pretty close along with Tilton, Blair, and Saddam.
And leave us not forget Mike Ditka or Jim McMahon.

the MSM types - like Rush and Oreilly and Novak, et. al. (Shoot let's just say the entire Fox News staff...)
All the "evangelists", of course and everyone who's a member of PNAC.

6. I nominate my ex-vice-principal.... |
|
Edited on Mon Jul-17-06 02:06 PM by MiniMandaRuth
I don't know what it was... what she had a problem with.... but...
-She almost suspended me for THREE DAYS for standing in a doorway because I was waaaaaay.... toooooo..... hoooooootttt....
-She had a hand in cutting funding from the band so they could re-roof a part of a building that we use for storage of old textbooks.
-She was a die-hard freeper.
-She nearly cut all music programs because they were "Taking up too much money, they only have 14 kids in the sixth grade choir, and the band is... not very good and quite useless"
I heard this from her own mouth.
Damn I hate her.... On edit: Our principal was a really nice guy and he stopped the band from being taken away. He told me that he actually played the baritone horn in school and he was one of the biggest band geeks in school. Go him. :)

7. "Rev" Fred Phelps may get the award |
|
Although Falwell and Robertson almost deserve it more because their influence is greater than Phelps'.

Proud2Blib and I plan on pissing on his grave someday. It wouldn't take that long to drive there for either of us.
