What is a good price for a set of used Titleists?
A friend of mine is willing to sell me his old set of Titleists. I have no idea what a fair price would be and I don't want to insult him by offering to little.

A few things to keep in mind:

1) These are irons only. No woods
2) It is missing the 6 iron
3) Clubs are probably 3+ years old
4) Bag is included
5) He is not the type to screw me over on a price. If I offer him a decent price, he will take it.

Any help you could give me would be totally appreciated.

3. I just got a used set of Hippo's
Granted, they had barely been used -- were still pretty new. It was a full set WITH woods, no bag, no putter. I paid $120 for them.

So...seeing as the bag is included, but there aren't any woods, I'd estimate somewhere in the $75-$100 range, probably? (Might also depend on where you live (I'm in NYC) and how old/what shape his are in.) Mine had literally been used about 8 times before I purchased them.

NB: Also, I'm not sure what the quality disparity is between Hippo's and Titleist. That may make a difference.

4. Thanks!
I was hoping they wouldn't be more than $200. I'm in Canada so I expect the price to be a bit higher than $100 but that would still be considerably lower than what I had thought.

He had the clubs at his cabin so that, coupled with the fact that the golfing season here only lasts 5 -6 months, I don't think they were used a whole lot. They look to be in pretty good condition, I hope to get out to at least the driving range this week to try them out.

I have heard that Hippo's are better than Titleists.

Thanks again for your help!

5. why don't you check ebay?
People selling clubs there. Just take a look at the prices and you'll get the idea.
