Holy Moley,,.wer'e having a monsoon. High winds...a big limb from our
neighbor's tree came down on our deck. Winds have been around 70 mph. We've had torrential rains for the last half hour and hail for the last nickel sized 15 minutes. There's still a lot of lightening and thunder and the rain is pretty hard. It started leaking around my west dining room window because the rainwater couldn't drain from between the screen window frame and the window fast enough. Just mopped that mess up and wiped the wall down.

6. I'm in Va. Beach and live in an area with lots of trees, an area of about.
5 acres and the ground is covered with a variety of yellow leaves, from many different kinds of trees.

9. Doesn't appear immediately to have damaged the deck
Edited on Mon Jul-17-06 07:09 PM by Skidmore
but I lost three planters and will have to clean up that muddy mess tomorrow morning. The deck table was knocked over as well as the umbrella stand. The table might be a little warped but it's too rainy to really do more than look from afar. Tomorrow I'm going to call the insurance people to have the roofs checked for hail damage. We had absolutely torrential rain for a while. No tornado watches or warnings though.

14. Glad to hear you're OK,
I can't believe the powers that be chose to move this to the lounge. Others in the path of this storm need to know.

13. None, just severe thunderstorm warnings and the weatherman
specifically said there was no concern about tornadoes with this system. The town down the road was reported to have had golfball sized hail.
