1. I work for a dermatologist -
this is common practice as I'm learning .... they also tend to 'overbook' their slots in case of no-shows like the airlines.
I guess people will 'blow off' appts. with derms thinking that it's no big deal - but it makes everyone else suffer. Dermatologists make their money from 'frequent flyers' not patients who show up occasionally.

Sorry - I don't like it either. But, that's life.

2. I really wanted to see him.........
wanted to tell him I finally quit smoking, and have him look at these two dark spots on the side of my face. There are 6 - 7 other dermatologists that I'd be able to see in this practice, but he's the only one who's not taking new patients, d*mn, I really wanted to see him.

3. I know -
evidently he has built his practice up to a point that he's full.
Hopefully you will be able to bond with another dermatologist in that practice, or ask around for referrals.
Congratulations on quitting smoking. That's the best thing you could ever do for yourself.

4. I've always thought that way
It seems the medical industry is always more focused and invests more in treatments, (the return customer option) versus cures.

5. If my dermatologist refused to see me again, I wouldn't want to go to him
or her. How careless of a person is that, who saw you in the past, but now won't find a place for you on the schedule? I wouldn't want to go to a doctor with that attitude. I would just find another doctor, who does care.

6. Find a new dermatologist.
They should still have your record after 3 years - refusal to see you is wrong. I wouldn't want to go back there; hopefully you live in an area where you have another choice.

7. My neighbor had troubles finding a dermotologist recently.
Apparently they don't like taking workman's comp cases. The sick thing is, this guy doesn't even want to be on workman's comp... he wants to be back at work and they won't let him until the infection clears up. Crazy.
