It seems I have an impacted wisdom tooth.
Dentist gave me a copy of the X-ray, and the damn tooth's growing in at a 45-degree angle. So I have to go and get that pulled at some point soon.

On the plus side, I was presuming the hellish toothaches I'd been having came from a bad cavity, and that hadn't happened, so...one bright spot, at least.

2. Piece of cake
Shoot you up with Novacaine. Yank takes like a second. A suture or two and you're ready to go. Getting knocked out is unnecessary and is the cause of the lengthy recovery.

3. That happened to me last year
It got really bad (some kind of infection) and I couldn't even open my mouth. It was horrible.

But, getting it pulled was a piece of cake. I was terrified because I thought it would be this big involved procedure. But the oral surgeon just reached it and plucked it out in 2 seconds. Like it was a just a little splinter. I couldn't believe it was over just like that.

AND, he gave me a prescription for really good drugs!

5. The price we pay for our faces getting smaller
I had all four of mine yanked at the same time. As everyone else said, doesn't hurt (killer drugs) and doesn't take any time. A bit of discomfort post op, but nothing that can't be handled. Get it done ASAP and do what the doctor tells you.
