White "W" on a square black decal almost kept me out of a store today.
I had driven over to Spartanburg to check out an appliance store. As I pulled into a parking place near the front door, I noticed the ubiquitous white "W" on black-square decal just below the Amex, Master Card, and Visa stickers. I started to turn around and drive back to Greenville. However, I had driven for 45 minutes to see a demonstration of this particular appliance and this store was the only one for miles around with a wired-up demonstrator (but I can buy the appliance in Greenville). I decided to go in, see the vent hood in action, and then mention the "W" sticker.

As I got closer I realized that the smaller print didn't say "The President," or anything like it. It said "Wofford College." Wofford was the college I had just passed on College Street in Spartanburg. I noticed quite a few more of those stickers as I drove around Spartanburg, a couple with liberal-leaning bumperstickers, too.

1. Pwew, thats good
Those damn stickers are still around these parts, and I'm getting quite sick of them. Those "W the President" stickers sparked a whole freaking industry of "(letter here) the (blank)" stickers (e.g. "O the coach" for the Ole Miss fan, etc).

And of course the W hotels stuff. I think that Chimpy stole the idea of "W the president" from the W hotel chain. They're really nice hotels, btw. I stayed in one in NYC and the room was really cool and modern and stuff. And it had a really good resteraunt downstairs, the Blue Fin or whatev...sorry I'm going off on the last time I went to NYC (2003 or so...I'm going again when I'm 18...I go every 6 years, it's a tradition).
