18. Jeff Koons

When he was married to Cicciolina. I was with a couple of industry colleagues at a conference in San Francisco once, and I suggested we eat lunch at the cafe at SFMOMA. Lo and behold, two tables away from us, Cicciolina was being interviewed by someone for a radio program. I tried to explain to my lunchmates who Cicciolina was (porn star, member of Italian parliament, one-time wife of Jeff Koons) and why she was being interviewed (Koons retrospective). The dumbass bond trader I was eating lunch with says, "Shit man. She's not hot enough to be a porn star."

24. My favorite quote from Cicciolina when she and JK broke up.....

"I did all the work and he got all the money."

Jeff sued for divorce and tried to get custody
of their kid because, brace yourself, as a porn
actress she was an unfit mother!!!!!!!!!

JK was and is an illiterate and brain dead Art Pimp.

Even Julian Schnabel is smarter than him and Schnabel
is an idiot.

Give me Andy and Basquiat, they had talent.

26. When I studied art and chatted with a gorgeous model...
I had a conversation that to this day reminds me almost entirely of George's "I don't drink coffee" speech in "Seinfeld."

This absolutely gorgeous Fillipino model was working with my figure drawing class for a few weeks--it was her first time modeling, but she handled herself well. After each session she would come over and sit by my side looking at the stuff I had drawn that day. Anyway, the end of the semester was approaching very quick, and on the last day of class we had the following conversation:

Her: So I guess I'm done modeling with this class.

Me: I guess so.

Her: You know, I think you did some really great charcoal work.

Me: Thanks.

Her: So what are you doing this sumnmer?

Me: Oh not much, just going to be hanging around here probably.

Her: Oh, me too! In fact, I'm not going anywhere at all this summer and will be in this area every day.

Me: Oh that's cool.

Her: mhm *smiled*

Me: Maybe we'll run into each other sometime.

Her: ...

God, I blew that one.

Of course, the Japanese female I met (before my wife) in Tokyo introduced our second conversation by pulling out an American magazine and saying, "Tantric sex, I wonder what this is like? How about you?"

I didn't miss those signs. :)

I composed it, it is not of me

however, I do think it is more tasteful that what the art faculty are offering $12.5/hr for at the college.

but then again, you dont need to take your clothes off to get more interesting dates at college, do you?

"Bicycle wheel" makes me go a little :wtf:

but then, I also chuckle everytime I think about the fact that painting Campbell's Soup cans could have been one of the fundamental accomplishments of 20th century art. what do I know, other than what I like?

and in the end, I guess thats really what it all boils down to, right?

edit to add an appropriate question mark.

32. you have an extraordinary eye
Edited on Wed Jul-19-06 01:02 AM by gkdmaths
because my image was, in part, motivated by that particular Duchamp photo.

the 'feel' of the set was modified by my own inspiration and the subjects motivation to try new things at the time.

but, youre tack-sharp and right on!

good eye!

I also did males, I was in a period of extreme angst when I captured this series:

all my images are captured on a 6x6 Yashika TLR on TechPan25 adn developed with a 'secret' method I came up with that keeps the emulsion from moving in the slightest while in the can, but I think this was done with HC-110 for the abrasive feeling high contrast on kodak paper. I know the female nude was done on Illford Warmtone paper. Its been a few years.

34. No, thank you for the compliment
I am a hardcore scientist (biophysics research) and rarely have time to let my creative brain exist in a form other than that of mathematics and engineering. It's an almost orgasmic release for me to be able to become inspired by the other side of my brain and create the images I've posted here.

your comments are a nice validation for me with respect to me not being a complete nerd.
