I want to buy a cable that I can plug into my cigarette lighter in my car and have the other end as a dual prong female connector, what you would have on the wall of your house.
Do they even make such a thing?

I plug my camera's battery charger into it when we're riding down the road. Is that what you want it for? I got mine at Radio Shack, I think. This is the one I have, Raging, and it works great. http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2102432&cp=2032056.2032136.2032157&parentPage=family

7. That's exactly what I'm looking for |
|
I already have a battery charger that connects to a car lighter, but that hasn't been working lately, so I'm not sure if it's broken or if the car lighter is not working.
I want to get this device because I carry some clamp lamps I bought at Home Depot in my car in case I ever need them for photography. One day I will buy real photography lights, but these will do in the time being.
But they need an electrical outlet in order to work, so it would not hurt to have something like that in my car. Also, it would be good to plug in my laptop without having to use the battery or to simply recharge the laptop when I'm out and about on long photo assignments.

. . . Car batteries were not, and never could be in the reasonable near future, 110.

10. You want a cable that will turn 12V DC into two 120V AC outlets? |
|
Uh........ yeah.
You can, however, by a device that will do that, though you might only get one outlet - I'm not sure.

11. You need a power inverter |
|
Depending on how heavy duty, they're somewhere between $20 and $100 at Frys.
