There sure is a lot of nature outdoors |
|
So I got up and went for a run this morning (started back yesterday) and I was greeted by a squirrel and a bunny rabbit along the way.
I was running on a nearby street when I saw something move in the bushes. I wasn't sure what it was-a cat? a small dog? suddenly it disappeared into the weeds near a water source...was it a water rat or something? I don't know but just then something caught my eye.
Hey look its a deer. Hey look there is another one. I could see them across the street. Damn look at that one he has a giant rack of antlers. I swear it had to be a 14 pointer (definitely bigger than the 10 pointer my father-in-law has on his wall).
I kept looking over and I thought that they were running along or sort of following me. I made the turn around on this route and headed back their way. I was weary as it was still pretty dark and you never know how they are going to react. Suddenly there they were maybe 25 or 30 yards in front of me. One was up against guard rail that acts as a seperator on the street and the other was in someone's front yard.
THEY BOTH HAD BIG RACKS!! ( go ahead make your little jokes) Had to be 14 pointers.
They didn't want anything to do with me and made their way towards the backyards of these houses as I slowly got nearer.
This is in the 'burbs of Richmond Va. In a "White flight" neighborhood built in the mid 60's or so. Densely developed with no large tracts of woods left. The river is several miles away.
WEIRD!
MAybe God is trying to tell me something.

I was walking around a pond and a turtle was swimming along beside me the whole time. When I noticed I walked a little slower so it could keep up better.

I've risked my own life one time by going out into six lanes of rush hour traffic to save a turtle.

9. silly, strips of bacon and you use toothpicks to hold them in |
|
place. Deer meat is very lean and the bacon grease helps it stay tender and moist. It is EXCELLENT.
much better than the shot full of steroid beef one buys at the grocery...

8. That's why I'm glad the Republicans are in charge - at least they're |
|
fighting against nature in the outdoors, making it a safer place for human beings by fighting it resolutely until there is no dangerous nature left.
