2. That was a busy mouse! Did cleaning out the nest get it working again?
:hi:

3. I thought you raised cattle, not sheep.
:D

I don't mind mice outside but the ones who take residence in the house...grrr.

4. Damned mice
used to nest in the air filter of my Prelude. Don't think they can get into the Honda Fit.

5. Update
The absolute worst place they can get is the insulation of a stove - because the smell never seems to burn off. Something to be said for old cast-iron woodstoves up on legs! Too hot for meeses and no hiding places in the false walls.

Cars are next because they inevitably chew wiring - so even if they can't access the vents (and I wouldn't bet on that) they can still get into the engine compartment.

There was one chewed wire inside of that nest after I cleaned it out but it didn't solve my problem. Seems to be the lid switch. A plastic linkage is a little loose and there is some corrosion at the electical contact due to moisture. (we are on a gravity water system and the pipes are old and clogged so I fill it with a hose and am constantly overflowing by about the third load when I forget what I am doing)

So I jiggled and scraped and it's running again. Hard to kill a Maytag.

7. Ah, the joys of country living
Just fostered kittens in my basement and Momma Cat caught and killed three mice - loved it - no dead mice smell all spring!

Sorry about the mouse damage :hi:
