Any body see the movie "Double Indemnity"?
It's a real classic. There is a lot to choose from but I think it's my favorite Billy Wilder film.

6. Paramount executives hated the blonde wig that B.S. wore in the film
one of them told Wilder, "We hire Barbara Stanwyck and wind up with George Washington."

2. Saw it a long time ago.
I remember enjoying it very much. Was John Garfield the male lead?

3. No, Fred MacMurray.
If I remember correctly, he initially didn't want it to be released, as I think he was going for more of a wholesome, Jimmy Stewart-esque image at the time. And did Edward G. Robinson win an Oscar, or just get nominated, for his role?

7. Neither MacMurray nor Robinson were ever nominated for an Oscar
both deserved to be for "DI". Stanwyck should have won for it.

4. About 30+ times...
My senior thesis in college was all about film noir, and I used Indemnity as my proto-ur-film noir example.

That said, though, I still think I prefer Sunset Blvd. as far as Wilder's work goes. (D.I., Some Like It Hot and The Apartment are all right up there, though...)

5. I've seen it many times and I love it
It's one of my favorites. I love how he calls Barbara Stynwyck "baby."

10. I saw it. Good stuff.
Right up there with "The Asphalt Jungle" in terms of good noir.
