My eyes are bleary, and my head is weary, but I CAN'T SEEM TO STOP.

10. I am verging on 5000 posts.

Some great but most forgettable. I have made a handful of awesome friends and a few acquaintances. Mostly the people I talk to on a regular basis are posters who I respect for their input and opinion or who I think are funny or full of shit. If you are here to meet buddies, for the most part forget it, although the lounge would be the place to do this. The folks in the lounge are friendlier and less hostile, but a bit more "clubby". But they are a nice lot, and with a few weeks of name recognition, you can become a part their crowd.

The other forums are more difficult. They really don't care to know you or have you know them, although once you post with them for a while, they will eventually recognize your name and give you a certain respect and loyalty. But there will be a price to pay. You will have to prove yourself with a certain amount of intelligent repartee or a fierce adversarial reply or at the very least, good documentation of your sources. They are a bit more challenging, but still a good bunch to bounce off of.
