Good Thursday Morning, Crew!

:hi: :donut:

Welcome to the Thursday edition of the Early Morning Crew thread. :bounce: Captain Clintmax is taking a break for a while, so we’ll have to work out a way to get by without him for now. No, it’s not forever, thank goodness! He’ll be back before you know it. :loveya:

If anyone wants to volunteer to do the morning thread for a day or a week, just chime in! I’m not sure I get up early enough for some of the crew, but I’m more than willing to do it when I do finally get myself out of bed.

So how’s everyone doing today? I’m fine. Did I ever have a strange dream last night, though! I dreamt that someone broke into the house while I was sleeping and when I called 911 to report it, I had to listen to a commercial. The 911 operator was reading it and it was about why I should call 911 in an emergency. When I interrupted her to tell her that I had an emergency and couldn't listen to her commercial, she said I was being rude.

I hope you all had better dreams than that! :D

Let’s get this day started, crew! Wipe that sleep out of your eyes and put the coffee pot on! :bounce: :grouphug:

My brother's doing that! He's going to sell his place and retire on the boat with his two kitties. Of course, he has to get them life jackets and he'll make them wear them (yep, I've seen them at the pet store). What are you looking for specifically? And when is the big retirement date? :bounce:

I just let several dealers compete for the sale by asking them to submit a bid.Anyway I verbally agreed yesterday. I have to go and make it legal and they have to put it together at the factory for me. I am expecting delivery the week of Aug. 14th.I'll be insane with excitement by then.LOL

It's not sweet like you would normally think of tea with a bit of sugar in it. It's almost like syrup! It's a southern thing, I guess. I can't get it down, which is probably a good thing -- holy sugar shock, batman!

There was a show about global warming a few nights ago and they talked about how hot the summers are getting. I fell asleep for most of it, though. x( It was on Discover, so I'm hoping they'll run it again when I'm more wide awake.

There's a place here called The Farmer's Daughter that serves home-style country food. Everyone around here thinks it's the best there is. For $12 per person, you sit at a table and they'll bring 3 meats of your choice and a bunch of side dishes, then dessert. They don't take anything but cash and there's usually a long line waiting to get in. All I can say is I'm glad we tried it once. I don't know ... maybe we don't like southern food? :P

20. Good morning AirmensMom!
That sounds like a scary dream that might just be part of our future reality the way everthing is being "privatized". I can imagine it now--"This ad brought to you by your local 911 operator", and you wait for the ad to end while you bleed all over your floor.

The only recent dream I recall was going into a house and recognizing the pink knit (?) carpeting with buttons(?) on it. Then the Executive Director came up and asked how I liked the house and I was telling him I knew it because of the pink carpet but couldn't place who used to live there before. The dream ended before he told me.

I'm less than 45 minutes from the end of my shift then I get to go home and sleep. :boring: :bounce:

Oh, that's different if you're used to it. I used to have to work 3rd shift on a few nights, after working 1st. That was pretty hard for me to do. It was my choice, though -- I wanted to test the code while no one was there trying to use the machines.

I used to work nights during the week and 16 hours on S/S morning-night. It was very hard going back and forth between sleeping night and day. Now at least I have a set schedule.

Funny--the carpet in my dream was about the same color as the Pink Panther.

You're right about the dream. But I really think it was brought on by all the telemarketing calls I've been getting. We've only had this phone number for about 6 weeks and we are getting TONS of calls! I signed up with the national do not call list, but that takes about a month to kick in.

Thanks for stepping in, this is so nice of you.

Ah your dream? How funny . . . and I was reading about the phone solicitors in other posts. I don't get them anymore, but I remember one, where the girl was eating and I could hear her chew, so I asked, "don't you think it's rude of YOU to call ME and then chew in my ear?" She hung up on me. Suspect it wasn't her career.

How's your summer cold? I seem to have had a relapse, feeling pretty lousy again. Almost left work early yesterday, but toughed it out. Silly me!

48. Good morning, Simply Fugue!
:hi: I'm sure others will step in as time goes by. I get up a little later than some.

Now, your dream was funny!

Damn these summer colds! Yesterday I was hoping it was an allergy or sensitivity to something I got into (I'm extremely sensitive like that). But my throat is a lot worse this morning. I don't have a new doctor yet, so I might call my old one to see what he suggests.

So are you working today? I hope you don't tough out the work week so you can be sick for the weekend. Take care of that cold, OK?

51. Yeah, going to try
to tough it out today, b/c I'm meeting friends after work or at least attempt to.

I know what you mean about a sore throat. Mine was so sore on Monday, I think I would have rather died. Try these http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0006NZO66/002-9038247-1140834?v=glance&n=3760901 they're kinda expensive but really work. Most grocery stores will have them I'm sure. That's where I got mine.

53. Oh, thanks for the link.
Do they taste good? :9 I'll print out the page and take it with me if I get around to going out today. The bad thing about living out of town is when you have to pick up something. I wish harleydad was here to go for me.

Those meetings with friends after work will certainly motivate you to tough it out. Maybe you can be well all weekend and save your cold for next week.

56. Yes, they are
very tasty, I don't think you'll be disappointed.

I always save "sick days". At times when I just don't feel like going into work I just call in sick. I've got a million hours coming, so why not. I consider them mental health days.

Sorry to hear that harleydad's not around much. Hopefully that'll change soon.

Gotta get my travel mug ready and hit the road. You have a good day and be talking to you soon.

Too bad it's not larger: it would've made a great desktop!

You wouldn't have that shot in (say) 800x600, would you?

   AAACCCKKK!!! She's gone! <*sigh!*> and I xcan't do a THONG about it!

65. I'm here for a minute.
The original is quite large ... I just have to find it (different computer and all). If you want a copy, PM your email address to me and I'll send it when I find it.
