Bed sharing 'drains men's brains'
This research may explain a lot of things to women that share their beds with a man.

Bed sharing 'drains men's brains'

Sharing a bed with someone could temporarily reduce your brain power - at least if you are a man - Austrian scientists suggest.

When men spend the night with a bed mate their sleep is disturbed, whether they make love or not, and this impairs their mental ability the next day.

The lack of sleep also increases a man's stress hormone levels.

According to the New Scientist study, women who share a bed fare better because they sleep more deeply.

3. Maybe Laura snores like a freight train...
...that would explain her husband's psychotic episodes.

:)

4. I don't believe women sleep more deeply.
Especially after having a child. A woman is always on the alert to take care of the needs of that child and that means sleeping with one ear open.

6. Maybe
But I tend to be the one who wakes up when our son wakes in the night. My wife sleeps like the dead.

7. Huh, it's the exact opposite for me...

My girlfirend is the one who doesn't sleep - tosses and turns - and I sleep like a log, a baby, or something that sleeps really well.

Hmmm...

9. I think they are wrong
I guess I don't know how deeply everybody sleeps - but my husband has always been able to sleep through anything. Not me.

I thought that was the more usual scenario.

16. That seems to be the implication.
If it's proof of anything - it's more proof that (some) men are sexist.

17. I came to same conclusion one night after the act of making love...
I felt drained!

The key is Purity Of Essence!

Anyone want to join me in a whiskey and water? (I only use rain water or
distilled water)

PRECIOUS BODILY FLUIDS! That's the key!

18. Another day, another crap pronouncement about gender
Men this, women that.

Now men who slept just fine will lie awake questioning their masculinity and get stressed and unhappy, and maybe they'll buy more shit from BBC advertisers.

Hrmph.

when you have two ice cold feet on your calves?

on edit: Honestly ladies, it is like you take your legs off and leave them outside. It freaks me out.

20. Since my husband rarely gets to bed until after midnight
and I go to bed at 9 and am up at 5:30, maybe it isn't so bad for him; he sleeps in until about 10 or so.

33. That explains a lot...
I stay up late, learning tons and tons of useful info, from DU, and especially the Lounge, and I go to bed...my head a swim, with good ideas, and the energy to do good in the world...

And then, I go to sleep, with my wife...and I wake up, and I can't remember what I talked/learned/debated about on DU, the night before....thank god for the DU archives!...:)
