Haley Joel Osment in hospital after accident

LA CANADA FLINTRIDGE, Calif. - Haley Joel Osment was hospitalized early Thursday after he apparently lost control of his car while heading to his Los Angeles area home, authorities said.

Osment, who was nominated for an Academy Award for his role as a boy who could see dead people in "The Sixth Sense," was driving a 1995 Saturn about 1 a.m. when the car collided with a brick pillar and flipped, said Los Angeles County sheriff's Lt. Greg Sisneros.

The 18-year-old actor was awake and talking following the crash, Sisneros said. He had been alone in the car and was taken to Huntington Hospital in nearby Pasadena.

We don't even know how busted up he is, and all anyone wants to talk about is his old beater of a car. As for his acting career, when was the last time you saw someone between the ages of 14-17 in a serious film? Why do you think that is? Could it be because they don't make very many of those? HJO was nominated for an Oscar at the age of 11. His next three films all kicked ass. He's worked with the best actors (and a couple of the best directors) in the world. He's not about to do one of those Frankie Muniz "Lowest Common Denominator" pictures, not even just to keep his face on the screen.

Dude looks like Robert Redford. He's an even better actor. He'll be fine.

He does the voice of Sora in Kingdom Hearts and Kingdom Hearts 2 in the English version of the game. KH2 has been #1 on monthly game sales charts since it came out in Spring.

To my knowledge he has one one sibling, a sister named Emily who is also an actress. Her most noteworthy role thus far was the quasi-villain Gertie Giggles in the latter two Spy Kids films.
