I came home this afternoon to discover this unbelievably lound humming noise in my house that was actually shaking my floor. After 20 minutes of trying to figure out what was causing this noise I discovered when I turned on my kitchen sink the noise would stop...and as soon as I would turn it off, the noise would begin again. Anybody have any idea on what could be causing this? I'm calling a plumber right now but maybe it's something incredibly simple that I'm overlooking.

I called him and he said it sounds like there's air in the line somewhere.
