I need a shoulder to cry on or a wall to bang my head on
It's been a freaking crazy two-three weeks

We went to CA for vacation at the beginning of the month. My partner's cousin (who lives in LA) died while we were out there. We did get to see her before she passed on.

Then the trip home was a doozy with having to change itinerary at the last minute because one of the planes was taken out of service for mechanical problems. This last minute change had us subjected to 'special screening' by homeland insecurity at all our connecting flights.

Last week Tuesday - the toilet leaked. On wednesday we had to rescue a baby bird and return it to it's nest (glad to report that the bird and it's siblings flew the nest a couple of days later)

On friday - my partner had to slam on her brakes to avoid hitting a guy in the shopping market parking lot. This blew a brake line.

On Sunday - a portable air compressor died while we were inflating a tire on the garden tractor. Fortunately we had a second compressor

this monday, I was informed I am in charge of getting all the crap ready for ISO inspection (it's in 4 weeks)

this morning I get out of my car at work and smell gas, I look under the car and see gas dripping. So I call my garage, arrange to bring it over there after work. At first he tells me it's just the fuel filter, but in the process of changing the fuel filter - the lines break (car is old, and no the mechanic didn't do it on purpose, we've used this guy for many years and he's never 'shafted us').... ennywhoo - he can't get the parts until monday morning

I'm working on two different plans to get myself to work for Friday and Monday. Going to take some juggling....

Meanwhile - my birthday is Sunday and I've already told my partner that under no circumstances do I want a cake with 51 candles on it - I'm afraid I'll set myself on fire if I try to blow them out -- either that or I'll blow a lung trying

shoulders and/or walls appreciated

11. Hugs to you, radfringe. I hope that things start going better for you...
very soon.

By the way, Mercury went retrograde on the 4th until the 29th. Here's some info:

Mercury Retro

The traditional astrological meaning assigned to Mercury going "retrograde" in the sky is that one should prepare for and gird themselves for unexpected delays, frustrations, and surprises in everyday life. This includes everyday routines in commerce, commuting back and forth to work, and in one's communications.

15. Are you serious? ...........

"So I call my garage, arrange to bring it over there after work. At first he tells me it's just the fuel filter, but in the process of changing the fuel filter - the lines break (car is old, and no the mechanic didn't do it on purpose"

Fuel filters are not connected to the carburetor by steel lines but by hoses and clamps. They cost pennies to replace. A mechanic can't break a steel fuel line unless he goes out of his way to do it. Even if fuel is rusted out, fuel pressure is so low the lines can't rupture unless the car is a 30 year old rusted hulk. I've worked on cars that are sixty years old and the fuel lines are still fine depending on whether the car was driven on salted winter roads.

Also, when you lose break fluid it's because the seals in the master cylinder fail. That's a twenty
dollar part replacement plus one hour labor. Fifty dollar charge max.

As for your garden tractor. Get a bicycle foot pump.

16. It's wasn't the BRAKE line on my car
my car had the fuel line problem and they "snapped" where they connect to the fuel filter. gas was leaking from the fuel filter, and when he went to replace it - the line broke where it connects into the fuel filter...

The brake line problem was on my partner's truck.

23. Little late to the party, here, but you can have my shoulder.
It'll probably get soggy pretty quick, but if you can stand that, here you go!

My life is hella frustrating at the moment, but it's nothing like that.
