Poll question: Ymmm, summer fruit. Pick your favorite
Edited on Thu Jul-20-06 08:05 PM by cally
This is the most difficult question you'll ever be asked. Which is your favorite summer fruit? I've had apricots to die for, strawberries so sweet they seem like a unique species, nectarines called honey kist that most of the tasters thought was too sweet :eyes:, and today I bought plums and peaches. I don't know which is my favorite because each week a new one ripens and is sold at my local farmer's market and I think it's the best.

1. Strawberries.
Mostly because when I was a kid we'd go to the local strawberry farm and pick 'em fresh for ourselves. Yum. :9

Regular cherries are good, too, but the Rainiers are special.

7. Let's hear it for fresh peaches please.
Give me a peach that when you bite into it, dribbles down your chin. That's summer to me. :hi:

14. On a cherry kick this year
started out as a health thing, but as it turns out, they're 'ono (delicious)! I even scored a container of Rainiers last week. Most of those stay in the Northwest. If you find some, get 'em: they look and taste more like miniature nectarines!

15. I love strawberries, but it's a hard choice...we have wild black
raspberries all over our place, and I picked close to a pint a day while they were ripe...got eaten alive by skeets while doing it, but man, were they good!
The only reason I picked strawberries over the raspberries is the SEEDS...I hate it when they get stuck in my teeth! But I sure do love them on ice cream.
