My cat's dying. Should I stuff a bag over its head and kill it? |
|
Just wondering if anyone is really here. I post a lot of messages and no one responds. Actually I posted a message about my brother having lung cancer and about 3 people responded. Then, when my cat died, about 200 people responded. Hmmm...just an observation.

1. Sorry to hear about your brother. But the responses haven't been real |

2. I think I'm dead to DU myself. |

I used to be a contender. Now, I'm nothing...just like you. (Very sorry about your brother. How is he doing?)

3. 1/2 of his lung was removed |
|
And he's been cancer free for about 4 years. But it can come back. And he's an asshole and still smopkes pot and I suspect he still has a cig or two.

4. Some people have a secret death wish. |
|
My brother is the same way. Bad heart, some sort of (secret) degenerative bone disease, but he won't stop drinking or lose weight. He LOVES talking about his secret bone disease...snore.

I lost both of my parents to smoking-related lung cancer, relatively young.
(And...pretty sad what you have to do to get replies!)

No details, but I've pointed out how animals, tasty or otherwise, get better treatment than humans.
I've been pretty much upset by my own health to notice other peoples' problems, but then I've got a good excuse...

6. Most people can relate to the death of a pet, |
|
and therefore feel comfortable offering sympathy in that case.
Few among us have dealt with the tragedy of losing a sibling.
Fewer still have experienced a lengthy debilitating illness in the family.
Those of us who have suffered through it, relive the experience when we see it happening to someone else, and are paralyzed by our own pain. We retreat.
Those who have not suffered it, don't now what to say, so they remain silent.
In your feeling of isolation, you are not alone; many of us share your grief, even if we are unable to articulate it.

Probably a better way to make a point than this.
