OMG - I'm watching "Noises Off"! LOL!! What talent! What dead talent!
Many of my favorites, and some who are now dead, sadly: John Ritter, Carol Burnett, Christopher Reeve.

Plus some other greats: Marilu Henner, Michael Caine, Julie Hagarty, Denholm Elliott, Mark Linn Baker.

And it's fucking HILARIOUS! I've never seen it before, but I loved Frayn's "Corpus Cristi", and so wanted to check out some more of his stuff.

Holy shit this is a great script, and even better: an ensemble of truly incredible talent.

3. Carol Burnett is dead?
I didn't know that!

It's one of my favorite movies as well. Incredibly funny physical bits.

4. Well, sonofabitch, no she isn't! I just checked IMDB.
Edited on Thu Jul-20-06 09:44 PM by Rabrrrrrr
She was on Desperate Housewives this year, and also has a movie that will begin filming this year with a SHITLOAD of classically funny actresses:

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0473056/

God, I have such strong memories of her dying a year or two ago and me spending a number of days being sad about it.

Damned old age, always confusing me.

5. Well, that's a relief!
I thought it happened and slipped right past me.

Ritter's death was hard enough, if I had completely spaced on Burnett I'd feel like crap.

7. Ritter's death was really sad. I have been a HUGE fan of his
since three's company, and I was long an admirer and defender of him.

He never got the roles that he truly deserved, and spent most of his acting career never getting anywhere near the credit, kudos, accolades, and acknowledgment he deserved.

One of the funniest and best comedy actors of the second half of the twentieth century.

9. Top notch physical actor
Edited on Thu Jul-20-06 09:55 PM by Mojambo
You're quite right that he didn't get the respect or roles he deserved.

He was much loved by everyone though. Seemed to be a genuinely superior person.

Three's Company was my first true television passion as a kid. It's the first show I remember making a point of having to watch. It had everything to do with John Ritter.

Noises might be my favorite movie role of his. His physical skills are on prime display in that flick.

Reeve is quite good in it as well.

10. I think it was her daughter who died a couple of years ago.
Breast cancer or something like that.

You probably heard them say "Carol Burnett" and didn't hear the daughter bit.

(looked it up. It was Carrie that died.)

But it's all good. Life is wonderful!!

I miss NYC, though.

18. Excellent movie! I can't wait to read the play. It started hilarious,
and actually became funnier and funnier and funnier.

It's an incredible farce, in the old style of farces and physical comedy.

21. Another pretty decent and funny film w/Caine & Reeve:
Deathrap (based on the play by Ira Levin). Worth checking out if you haven't seen it.

23. That was the one that had the multiple endings, right?
If it's that one, good movie! I saw it in the VHS version with all the endings.

Pretty cool!

And it reminds me that "Murder By Death" was also a hell of a good movie.

24. I think so...
there was more than one ending...but...you're not thinking of Clue (with Tim Curry), are you? That one seems a little closer to Murder By Death.

22. My daughter's college will stage that this fall.
She's a theatre major there. I can just guess how she'll be cast.
But, she'll be good. She's very good at comedy.

25. I love the sex farce inside the sex farce
it's got a cute structure, has some great writing, and is well acted by all parties. I haven't seen it in quite a while, but it used to be among my favorites.
