So what's everyone drinking tonight?
As a "child of privilege" (not really), I'm having a Patron margarita.

Most places also give a discount on a case. United Natural Foods is the distributor for it.

No health food stores around. I was lucky to stumble upon a convenience store near where I work that sells it. Once I get back to school it should be no trouble to find though.

74. I used to have a big can of that
along with a couple No-Doz during my lunch hours in the front seat of my '72 Impala ("the roach") in the parking lot of Metro Messenger back in the mid-eighties.

That poor man's speedball enhanced my telephone rapport with the customers.

I'm sure it did some damage to my body, too, but it's too late to worry about that.

kill and clean themselves. I don't think, in a normal situation, I could kill and clean a bird or mammal. I can and do kill and clean my own fish on occaision. I respect people who hunt for food way more than those "who could never hunt" but buy their meat at the supermarket.

76. That's cool. I wish I knew about engines.
I'm handy, but more with the building stuff. One of the coolest jobs I had was a year spent working in a scene job doing set construction. It's really satisfying to look at the set afterwards and be able to say, "shit, I helped build that." Demolishing it at the end is also oddly satisfying.

As a buyer for a store, I know how much work goes into farming. We'd try to buy as local as possible. The farmers I know probably work harder than anybody else I know. It's not a job I'd really want to do, but I'd be capable of it. Hell, I've spent more time doing sit-ups and pushups in the mud than I care to think about. I'm actually a pretty rough & tumble tomboy type, more than the princess type. ;)

69. Actually, I am talking NOT mixes.
The GF Gourmet Bakes Bread is a book of recipes all starting with the basic ingredients (the various "weird" flours that are common at chinese Grocery stores - rice, potato, tapioca, soy, garbanzo bean, 3 bean, etc. etc.)

You mix your own and store in jars or tupperware and make bread whenever you want. Very cheap that way, too!

83. I will be drinking Diet Dew until all my errands in the car have been run,
then I will probably have a beer or a wine cooler when I get home

If I had it, I'd be drinkin' Baileys...it's my favorite. Yum.

94. Why can't I just be evil for once?
Someone's always throwing that "(insert evil action here) ain't vegan" crap at me. You know, being evil and vegan isn't easy. It's right above pimpin' but nobody made a rap tune called "Bein' Evil and Vegan Ain't Easy" so nobody considers it.

Example...I've got this brand spankin' new trident. Super sharp, perfect balance. Can't find a damn thing to do with it. Why? Cuz damned if I can find anything "cruelty-free" to do with a frikkin trident.

Okay, so fine. FINE! I'm gargling the blood of the innocent, but I'm not consuming it. I'll rinse twice before I swallow anything else, too, okay? Jesus.

Edited on Fri Jul-21-06 05:59 PM by haruka3_2000
I just said you couldn't drink their blood. Go free! Maim and pillage! Just no blood drinking. Anyway, blood doesn't taste all that great and there are diseases out there these days...

103. Oh, please.
Stabbing people with my trident really doesn't fit into the whole "vegan code" if you know what I mean. I stab some dumbass with my trident, the next thing I know I've got folks alleging that I have a "fur coat" and "lust for veal."
