I just realized something & I'm really excited (and a total nerd).

This year is the Geraldine R. Dodge Poetry Festival. It only comes but once every two years. I had to miss the last one, because I was busy working on an amazing production of Of Mice and Men. So, I'm totally psyched about this one and I may even buy the four-day pass.

Of the currently listed poets, I'm a big fan of Gerald Stern & Mark Doty. I'm hoping they add Marie Howe, Amiri Baraka, Hayden Caruth, Crystal Bacon, B.J. Ward, Peter E. Murphy, Greta Wilkinson, Anne Waldman, and Naomi Shihab Nye. They haven't announced any of the poets for the smaller tents yet.

2. Well, Gerald Stern is very funny during a live reading.

So is Hayden Caruth.

Honestly, one of the funniest things I ever saw was Stern singing Dylan's "Everybody Must Get Stoned" and dancing around on stage.
