10. Fortunately "get pregnant" was not a category
Otherwise I'd have been a shoe-in. I was out sick a large part of my senior year (I had pneumonia and then an allergic reaction to the antibiotic) and everybody including most of the teachers thought I was really about to graduate magna cum foetus.

but it was one of those unofficial ones. Oh man, how I tortured him...naturally, without breaking rules, which is the best kind of torture.

The time I had him convinced I was going to publish an "unauthorized student publication" was priceless. Probably the highlight of my HS career.

We had our photo taken beside a 1956 Cadillac convertible parked at the Fontainbleau Hotel, Miami Beach, Florida. I wore the hottest, scratchiest WOOL dress in the springtime -- because that dress made me look sexy.

Here's the prom photo from that same year with my first boyfriend (sigh......):

25. Voted to give a speech at graduation
My high school didn't do that whole "most likely..." stuff but we did elect a person to give a speech at graduation instead of the whole valedictorian thing. My class picked me. I was known as something of a wastoid and a cut up so I suspect everyone was hoping I'd show up trashed and create a scene. I think I disappointed a few folks.

27. I was voted shyest
which was probably fairly accurate. Also I was one-half of the "oddest couple", which I still resent because I think the main reason my ex-girlfriend and I received it was either (a) we were interracial, or (b) we were considered to be "odd" people. I mean, I would probably agree that neither of us were "normal" compared to most of my graduating class (I'm very glad I wasn't like most of them) but two "odd" people who were actually fairly compatible together (we lasted much longer than most people's high school relationships) don't an "odd couple" make. That should go to two mis-matched, not particularly compatible. Oh well, I guess y'all can see I'm still bitter. It's all in the past; I know, I know...
