Poll question: How do you want to die (part 2)
This is part 2 of a multiple series of polls, the winners of each poll will come together in a battle royale.

Check out one of the corresponding polls here:

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=105x5399176

Part 2 is a simple choice:

Asphyxiation (by running out of air, relatively slowly) vs. Drowning.

In any event, you are alone and there will be no rescue, no matter how long the scenario lasts, imagine as best you will how much it will suck to die either way, then vote.

I realize both deaths are fundamentally the same, but there is something a little different about each, slowly running out of air, trapped in a cave for example, is a bit different than drowning. At least to me.

Take me to Davey Jones' Locker for my vote...

9. Neither one is "better"..
nor are they meant to be, it's just a matter of personal preference.

For me, drowning does not seem so bad. I love water, and while it would suck to die, having my last few bits of vision in the world being an underwater paradise as rays of light stream through the suface, sinking ever deeper into the darkening abyss.... well that seems better than slowly running out of air, which is in my opinion more likely to be less terrifying than drowning, since you would just stop breathing eventually.

I really would not want either one, however it is supposed to be an "if life gives you lemons, ya gotta make lemonade" sort of questions.

10. Well, having never learned to swim
I am afraid of water and drowing would definitely be my worst nightmare. So I guess suffocating would be my choice. :)

3. For me, drowning would be the WORST death ever!
Asphyxiation would be preferable......if only by a narrow margin..

Hopefully you would pass out before it got too bad! :scared:

4. Your lungs would fill up with water relatively fast, and once that happen
you won't be feeling much, so I chose drowning

5. Have you guys read the description of drowning in
(is it "Junger"?s) "Perfect Storm"? It sounds dreadful and nothing like the one-quick-inhalation-and-you're-dead that you imagine.

11. I have read that
and it's the reason why I prefer drowning. As sadistic as this sounds, it seemed like it would be an interesting (albeit painful) experience (to me at least).

12. I don't know how close I was to drowning, but one time
I was underwater too long (had dove into deep water ) and started breathing in water and was getting light headed. Oddly enough, after the first breath of water, it wasn't even uncomfortable

8. In my sleep.
I don't normally sleep while I'm swimming or doing whatever it is you have to do to get asphyxiated, so I have to disqualify myself.

14. How do you asphyxiate? Make your own vacuum to not breathe in?
Sounds like the better option, I suppose.
