This one wins for me, so far:

1. I went to pick up a bike once that was listed as "minor surface rust,
needs tubes." Got there and it was a shitty bike to begin with, damned near solid rust, the tubes were dragging behind it, the tires were dry rotted... There was absolutely nothing salvagable on it and it was fit only for the dumpster.

I hate when people waste my time on complete shit.

2. do cities besides Indianapolis
allow the option to ask for items? I see real greedy people asking for stuff like an Xbox, a digital camera, laptops and of course almost daily asking for a vehicle. I'm amazed people think someone will actually just give them this stuff? With what was once a good idea to share stuff with someone who might need it instead of throwing it in the trash, has turned into a bunch a greedy people asking for stuff like their kids with santa. It's sad because it turned alot of people off of freecyle like myself who want to help people with stuff I didn't need or have no use for any longer.

3. Yep.
We have that here too. I switched to craigslist free page due to that and rediculous list volume clogging up my email.

4. Yeah, but there are generally rules. No sob stories or explanations, etc.
I too find it strange that people would ask for things like that, but it doesn't precisely "bother" me, since I don't know the circumstances (I mean, the requests for cars don't, requests for x-boxes and things of that ilk are in a different category).
