It still sorta freaks me out when I'm IMing with someone
and I stop and think, "Man, this dude's in Australia." Or England. Or wherever.

I mean, I can remember when we had to dial (yes — dial) the operator to make a long-distance call.

So I guess some technology is kinda cool. :7

2. Thoughts like that never occur to some people. I've never understood why.
Having thoughts like that is one of the reasons I have never, ever, been bored.

5. I always think it's weird when I IM with my friend stuck in Iraq.
It's his 2nd tour, but he has a pretty safe job. Basically, he never goes outside. He just sits on a computer doing intel stuff, so he's on AIM all the time. He comes home in September, hopefully for good. He's very much on our side, too.

7. Gee, can I ever relate
Well not with the calling the operator part, I've only seen that on Lassie, but with the suddenly realizing just how far away somebody is.

I do that a lot. :(

Aaaaaaaaand now I feel shitty. Where the hell did Dad hide the beer again?
