What is going on with my printer?

I just put in a new ink cartridge but it's still telling me it's out of black ink. :shrug:

It still doesn't work. I tried to print out a page and it comes out mostly blank, with faint lines. :wtf:

but, did you remove the little sticky thing that is placed on it for storage?

I agree that you likely bought an old dried up cartridge. I'd return it to the place of purchase.
