Another observation: It's wrong to call that stuff cocaine. It may have some for flavoring, but crack is mostly a mixture of bad (I don't know what) shit. As a person who believes in legalization of drugs, I would warn anyone to stay away. It doesn't even make you feel good.

Coke is something I have some knowledge of in its pure form. Most alleged cocaine is hit hard. The crack I've seen hasn't any coke to speak of. Economically, it couldn't. Baking soda is another thing I can identify.

I think you might be mixing up an inferior method of free basing with street crack, which is something other than cocaine and baking soda.

My sisters boyfriend is, unfortunately, a crack dealer, and she used to chop crack up for him to make money.
My brother was a coke dealer. That's how I know. Rocks of crack are essentially cocaine, baking soda, sometimes ammonia. Far as I'm aware, that's what crack IS. Cheap, smokable coke.

After an all-nighter of 3 hits of really good acid where my buds and I smoked up a 1/4 oz of really good cannabis, we were driving around (yeah, not the smartest thing to do under the circumstances) and ran into an acquaintence who wanted to drive out to the cracklands to pick some up. Well, he picked it up, and we parked, he offered a round for us.

It tasted like shit and it killed my acid/pot buzz for 15 mins. I felt dirty for a few hours, then it wore off and I was fine.
