One of my best friends in college was a dwarf. She was normally proportioned but very very short -- almost like a small child. We used to call her "the mean midget" because she could get really nasty if she thought you were patronizing her or making fun of her because of her size. We used to have a dorm decorating contest every Christmas . One year, she tacked this ratty old fur to her door, put a red ball in the center of it and put a sign over it that read: "WHO KILLED RUDOLPH?"
I believe dwarfism is considered a disability although like many other disabilities many of its "sufferers" live full active lives and would object to being called disabled. But I know there are some severe health risks that come with it -- like joint problems that can result in severe crippling.
