When I was your age, son
I just wanted to post this again, for some damn reason. My son will be here from his mother's house in a few minutes, and..........I have thoughts................

the world was a place where the news was bad, but the response was good.

Love was a word that people tossed around, but meant it. Look for love. Hold on to love. And try to understand.

Love is not a bad word. Liberal is not a bad word. The two tend to go together honestly, not in the way that you and your generation are learning about honesty.

Honesty and love are from the heart. The heart doesn't lie, and it knows when it is being lied to. Please, please - know when you are being lied to.

I won't be here forever to love and protect you. I won't be able to teach you about the history of truth and honor.........and love.

When I was your age, son, love and peace were the driving forces behind everything in this country. The media actually showed the differences between the results of love.....and the results of war. The people, at the time, knew the difference between propaganda and truth.

I fear for you, and I fear for your friends.

I love you, and I have empathatic love for your friends, and also for those who don't even know us.

The world is real. And I fear the world is burning.

You are of age to make your own decisions, and your friends have made the decision to enlist. That is an honorable choice, but I fear you will also do so. I know you are thinking about it.

I want so much more for you.

When I was your age, son, the world had hope for a better time and place.

I hope, when you are my age, you have hope, and know love, peace, and hope.

We can make, and remake, the world - with love. And hope.
