Mug-mug-muggy as hell. My house is like a dead-air sauna. 88-90 degrees, and counting with no air movement at all.

I've become unaccustomed to humidity since I've moved to WA.

This is how I feel:

1. Are you saying it is hot like a wet T-shirt contest?
Hmm. I must be missing something. I'm in Detroit but nobody is looking quite like that... (not even people who might like to.)

2. LOL
Well, when I talked to my mom today (Kalamazoo) she said it's not very hot there right now - it was worse last week.

Surely you know about sticky-humid-Michigan hot weather? When you get out of the shower, but can never seem to dry off?

That's what it feels like here right now - where it's normally not humid at all.

3. It was a humid 107 degrees here in Sonoma County today.
I don't ever remember it being this hot in the bay area.

But thank god our new AC came yesterday (we had to order it, everyone was out) and we installed it last night.

I left Chicago in the summer of 1995 after 700 people died from the insane heat. I swore I'd never live in that (or twenty below) again.

4. Yeah, Chicago is close to my home town of Kalamazoo -
3 hours, around the bottom of the lake. YOU know what I'm talkin' about!

I don't know how I did it without air conditioning! I guess you just get used to it after awhile. Never had a car with air back then either. While I still don't have air conditioning at home I do in the car, and it really doesn't get hot like it does in the midwest, so it's not usually too big a deal.

6. My parents retired in TX outside of Houston and I thought they were nuts.
My Mom is miserable there. Stuck inside all summer.

7. Hubby loves the heat, even up to over 100 degrees. I think he's nuts.

I'm a prisoner of the car and the house (lucky to have air conditioning) and the 24 Hour Fitness swimming pool. It's just like cabin fever in the summer for me. Can't wait until fall.

Bring on the rain.

Please understand, this is my metabolism not menopause. I've been this way since I was a kid in Florida. In Portland, Oregon, it's a real hassle.

However, on a lighter front, we went to see "The Devil Wears Prada" today in Sherwood. Lovely to be in a cold movie while it's so HOT -- whatever the temperature was today.

Meryl Streep was the best bad woman boss I've ever seen. Great film -- lots of Manhattan locations and also some nice shots of Paris, France.

Good film. B+ or maybe a full A.
