Post here if you hate Ikea
Those who like Ikea won't see this thread because, months ago, the wobbly piece of shit computer desk they bought collapsed and smashed their computer.
As for me, I hate that fucking place... and this has NOTHING to do with the fact I got lost there today. It's just the shit they sell is so fucking poorly "crafted."
Fuck Ikea.... and fuck Saab too....

1. Saabs are fucking awesome.
Edited on Sun Jul-23-06 02:52 AM by haruka3_2000
I love my Saab. My Ikea furniture has been holding up for a pretty long time too.

If you deny Saab's are fucking awesome, then perhaps their performance team will educate you on the truth.

2. Maybe you need someone to help you put the furniture together??
I'm kidding...

But we buy a lot of stuff from Ikea for our kids' rooms and it holds up pretty well.

7. Damn it...I was trying to delete them before someone caught me. My
computer froze up and I hit the post button a few times...I guess I shouldn't have done that.

8. LOL...seriously, I've only purchased one piece of fucked up IKEA furniture
The holes weren't drilled properly on a corner shelf thing. I'm handy enough to take care of it myself, so it wasn't a major issue.

12. I don't mind Ikea ...
just as long as I never have to go.

They manage to combine the very worse aspects of every other style of shop, mix them together in a seemingly unending maze utterly devoid of natural light - quite frankly it couldn't get much worse in there if they put "Abandon hope all ye that enter here" over the door...but even if they did we wouldn't have the foggiest idea that they had done because it would just look like a rude comment.

So, yes, I hate Ikea.

16. I HATE walking around that place!
I want SHELVES, I came here for SHELVES... where the hell is the SHELF section?

Instead, I have to maze through all 6 floors of showrooms and look at the shelves in the little mini rooms they have set up. I. just. want. some. shelves.

14. Aren't you glad they don't sell the Swedish Bikini Team?
Just imagine the things that'd keep falling apart...

:yoiks:

In seriousness, their stuff is almost remarkably high priced. They have some interesting and creative (if not throwback-to-another-era) designs, but it's cheaper than cow shit in a glass. $50 for a lamp that is clearly made from bits of a plastic milk carton bottle? Or the $80 acrylic lamp that will most definitely discolor in time as acrylic tends to do when exposed to light...

18. Right on both counts!
Saab stands for "Slow And Always Broken" - hit the gas pedal on Wednesday and sometime Saturday afternoon the turbo will finally spool up.

I build furniture for a living, so you KNOW what I think of the "well, it LOOKS like wood" shit they sell at Ikea.

I don't care who yells at you - you're right!!!!!!!!!!!! :) :)
