Poll question: Best-ever performance by an actor (female): |
|
Since they only give 10 slots for polls, I had to simply pick out 10. Please reply with your choice if it's not on this list.

1. Katharine Hepburn in "The Lion in Winter" |
|
It's my favorite movie partly because Hepburn gave the finest female film performance I've ever seen.
Felicity Huffman is rightfully on that list for "Transamerica". It's a great performance.

2. We just watched "Lion in winter" last weekend. Great acting and dialogue |
|
but the story was a little bit skimpy, I thought. Very enjoyable movie though.

10. Hepburn's greatest role...she was perfect for the part. |
|
Runner-up, for me, would be Vivienne Leigh in "Gone With the Wind." Amazing performance.

Katherine Hepburn in anything, actually!
Also Judi Dench. I loves me some Judi.
But Brenda Blethyn is pretty damn good, too.

Without a doubt Madeline was the greatest film comedic actress of all time.
Imogene Coca, Nanette Fabray and Carol Burnett were great on TV as well. Plus, Gene Wilders' late wife from SNL whose name always escapes me.

But SNL was great when she was alive. Belushi, Murray, Akroyd. They were unbelievable.

Gilda was much more talented than Belushi. She had the creativity to develop those incredible characters. So how do we explain Belushi's greater fame? My answer to that is Animal House, Belushi's signature performance.
But the reality is, Radner, Murray and Akroyd were all much more talented than Belushi. As was John Candy, IMO.
