I cannot stand when people say "Even a stopped clock is right
twice a day."

It's a cliche. Find something else! Make something up. A little creativity goes a long way.

This is a new thing - the sentiment has been aired frequently of late, and as more previous shills for the right come around to sensible thinking, opportunities to use and abuse it further will increase.

Here's my first stab at it: Even shallow thinkers have sinkholes.

Hey, it's not Shakespeare, but it's different!

1. Fighting cliches is so cliche. But I think people like that saying so much
now because it proves that a stopped clock would be better than most of the world leaders we seem to have these days. Twice a day would be wonderful!
