I cannot believe Scott Adams is married.
I just went over to his blog and he is now married. Wow.

I used to have a crush on him so this was interesting for me to observe. :D

2. I cannot believe that Scott Adams is an IDer.
It really hurts when you find out people you admire are f*cking idiots. Especially since my username was taken from his evil director of human resources.

8. Your link was to a comment
And I have been less than appreciative of his comments regarding my side of the "debate".

9. This is one of Scott's posts:
"Second, allow me to restate that I DON'T believe in Intelligent Design. I'm just fascinated with what the topic does to otherwise rational people on both sides of the question."

That's what the link was for.

11. Otherwise rational people?
Edited on Mon Jul-24-06 12:21 AM by catbert836
I don't understand why he thinks of evolutionists like myself as irrational. Intelligent Design in not science by the worldwidely accepted guidelines of science and therefore it should not be taught in a science classroom. Simple as that.

12. I understand why you may have differences with some of his comments.
Edited on Mon Jul-24-06 12:32 AM by Hissyspit
He's not as unbiased and enlightened as he thinks he is, on a number of issues. But your last post seemed to imply that you did not understand why dorktv gave you the link. I was just clarifying. You seemed to imply that you think Adams is an IDer and here is a post by him where he states unequivicably that he is not, despite what other beliefs he may hold about the issues.

14. the simple facts
are that many evolution defenders cannot either make rational defenses of evolution or science or rational criticisms of ID. The arguments get very emotional and repetitions of "ID is not science. ID is not science." are not very convincing. Although you might be an exception. Have we met?

20. Layers of sediments and fossiles are hardly emotional.
Neither are analyses of DNA.

If you haven't met a rational defense of the Darwinian theory of evolution and would like to meet one*, I recommend "The Blind Watchmaker" by Richard Dawkins.

* Big "if", I admit.

21. ID is in no way equivalent to science
First, biology is all about the scientific method. hypothesis testing and all that. ID is simply creationism wrapped in a package to make it more palatable to school boards after the Supreme Court shot down creationism as trying to religion in a public school.

17. You are angry over his comments about the irrationality that
he says he "perceives" and then wonder why he says he perceives irrationality? Will his statements make you think the theory of evolution is wrong? What exactly is wrong with him having his own opinions and expressing them?

If you do not like them, send him an email, he will probably respond politely like he did to me when I asked him about his political leanings. We had a lovely discussion about the reasons for voting and he actually complimented me on my decision to run for office. So he is perfectly willing to listen to someone's side of an argument as long as they lay out their facts and are polite about it.

I am sorry about the link. I was trying give you the full blog post with that link but it did not work.
