3. That was the 2nd record I ever bought
To save server space at DU, I'll save my "Not enough ELO appreciate threads" for another day

This was #1, that started my love for all things vinyl records

4. BTW - I find the Logical Song appropriate for us DUers
When I was young, it seemed that life was so wonderful,
A miracle, oh it was beautiful, magical.
And all the birds in the trees, well theyd be singing so happily,
Joyfully, playfully watching me.
But then they send me away to teach me how to be sensible,
Logical, responsible, practical.
And they showed me a world where I could be so dependable,
Clinical, intellectual, cynical.

There are times when all the worlds asleep,
The questions run too deep
For such a simple man.
Wont you please, please tell me what weve learned
I know it sounds absurd
But please tell me who I am.

Now watch what you say or theyll be calling you a radical,
Liberal, fanatical, criminal.
Wont you sign up your name, wed like to feel youre
Acceptable, respecable, presentable, a vegtable!

At night, when all the worlds asleep,
The questions run so deep
For such a simple man.
Wont you please, please tell me what weve learned
I know it sounds absurd
But please tell me who I am.

6. Sorry, all, but I LOVE Supertramp.
I'm a walking encyclopedia of so-called "controversial" bands--Steely Dan, Supertramp, Boston, even Journey. I draw the line at REO Speedwagon.

My favorite Supertramp song:

"The Logical Song"

When I was young, it seemed that life was so wonderful,
A miracle, oh it was beautiful, magical.
And all the birds in the trees, well they'd be singing so happily,
Joyfully, playfully watching me.
But then they send me away to teach me how to be sensible,
Logical, responsible, practical.
And they showed me a world where I could be so dependable,
Clinical, intellectual, cynical.

There are times when all the world's asleep,
The questions run too deep
For such a simple man.
Won't you please, please tell me what we've learned
I know it sounds absurd
But please tell me who I am.

Now watch what you say or they'll be calling you a radical,
Liberal, fanatical, criminal.
Won't you sign up your name, we'd like to feel you're
Acceptable, respectable, presentable, a vegetable!

At night, when all the world's asleep,
The questions run so deep
For such a simple man.
Won't you please, please tell me what we've learned
I know it sounds absurd
But please tell me who I am.

8. Never did like them
Roger Hodgson's voice has that nails-on-a-chalkboard quality I can't get past.

The one cut I do like by them was in the post-Hodgson era, "Brother Where You Bound" with David Gilmour guesting with some extensive brilliant guitar.

11. They were better before that album, but yes Supertramp is underappreciated
Even in the Quietist Moments et. al. are some truly wonderful and great albums. Even Brother Where You Bound managed to be really good, although the ones before and after left a lot to be desired.

A very underappreciated band.

12. Ahhhh ...

Freeper, you know you are a freeper

Well can you put a thought in your head, oh no!

I said freeper, you're nothing but a freeper

Well can you put a thought in your head, oh no!

I said "Far out, - What a day, a year, a laugh you are!"

You know, - Well you know you had it comin' to you,

Now there's not a lot you can do

Freeper, you stupid little freeper;

So now you put your head in your hands, oh no!

I said "Far out, - What a day, a year, a laugh you are!"

You know, - Well you know you had it comin' to you,

Now there's not a lot you can do.
