We're used to the buggers, but it's been an unusually hot summer, and there isn't any stagnant water around, and hasn't been for some time. I read earlier in the month that the wasps were more of a problem (rainy=mosquitoes, hot, dry=wasps, around here), but I haven't found that.

Either way, you're stung.

I've been stung on the ass by a wasp. Sat on it. Not recommended.

On the other hand, you could just sit on the porch putting Tabasco sauce on your pizza like the guy on the TV commercials and watch them burst into flames.

Of course, by then you're bit.

(Seriously, that was the weirdest thing to get used to after moving to Vancouver.)

I should note that I did get bitten a few times by some flying things at a friend's place over the weekend. I hardly ever get bugbites here, but there seem to be pockets of unique ecosystems in this part of Vancouver Island. Feel better now? :)
