I'd love to win an all expenses paid trip to a doctor's office.
I have not had a physical for 5 years. I have no insurance, and we make a little too much money to qualify for low income treatment.

I remember the days when if you had some funky shit going on, you could see a doctor for little money and get treated. These days, I sit out every weird thing that pops up in my old age and hope that it isn't serious. Right now, I have about 5 weird things goin on that I'm sweating out and worry makes it worse.

Can I just say that I hate this administration?!

1. You can say it.
And I'll say it with you.

I'm sorry you can't see a doctor. It's getting harder for everyone, even with insurance.

2. And I have insurance, and I get a choice between
1) a deductible that's so high that it discourages me from going to the doctor or
2) a premium that's so high that it discourages me from going to the doctor

Forget what the Republicans and DLCers tell you about "rationing" in single-payer systems.

THAT's the kind of "rationing" we have in corporate America.

3. No shit. If you have insurance, you pay rediculous prices
just to get covered. Then you get hit with a dr. visit fee.

I always pray they don't order all kinds of tests. I had to pay for an abdominal ultrasound last year and it cost me $280 just for that, never mind the blood tests that went with it.

Bet more people would buy lottery tickets if the prize was a physical and treatment. Better not give the government any ideas.

4. Throw into that mix living far away from ANY doctors
The ones within 3 hours really don't see enough that I trust them to diagnose anything besides acute (and obvious) trauma.
