Baseball awards...who will be MVP, ROY, and Cy Young winners?
Edited on Tue Jul-25-06 03:42 PM by SaveElmer
Based on how things are going so far...

For me:

American League:

MVP: David Ortiz...best clutch player in the game right now, Travis Hafner and Justin Morneau runners up

Cy Young: Francisco Liriano, 12-2, lowest ERA, 5 in strikeouts. Halliday, Santana, Verlander, and Papelbon runners up

Rookie of the Year: Francisco Liriano, same reasons as above. Papelbon, and Verlander right behind

National League:

MVP: Albert Pujols...best in the game in my opinion

Cy Young: Brandon Webb...

Rookie of the Year: Prince Fielder

19. In case you don't know about these
www.metsgeek.com
metsradamus.blogspot.com

Two of the best mets blogs out there. MetsGeek also has an insane page of Mets and MLB-related links.

Gotta go, game's on! :)

11. If the Mets make the World Series
and the cardinals splutter out in the Playoffs, then Pujols might have some competition. Otherwise, yes, pretty much a lock, especially since the Cards looked piss poor withoput him, and started winning as soon as he came back. Wright, while contributing significantly to the Mets great season thus far, has a lot of company (in the form of Beltran, Delgado, and LoDuca) who will share the wealth in terms of kudos, so you're probably right.

21. My picks:
AL:

MVP - David Ortiz

Cy Young - Johan Santana

Rookie Of The Year - Jared Weaver (and no, I'm not biased just because he's on my team, but any rookie pitcher who has won all seven starts with less than 2.0 ERA definately deserves ROTY)

NL:

MVP - Albert Pujols (no questions here)

Cy Young: Hard to say

ROTY - dont really know many of the National League rookies

22. Weaver is good...but
No way they give ROY to a guy who only played half a season...

He has great stuff...but no better than Liriano
