What university are you?

I'm Sarah Lawrence College

With a passion for being unconventional, you attempt to avoid the traditional wherever possible. In your extensive efforts to be different, you've even ditched most of your own personal traditions just to stay unpredictably in flux. Some of this experimenting has made people feel more welcome to try out almost anything in your presence, though it comes with the drawback of almost constant weirdness. Though you're actually far from it, you could be called the Bronx Zoo.

1. Neat...
You're Boston University!

A bit wealthy and privileged, you nonetheless appear to some to be a person of the public. After all, you spend a lot of time talking about the Commonwealth. You think it sounds like the common good, while others just find it pretentious. You love drawing lines with green pens. You were truly outraged when they considered tearing Fenway down. When people say your name fast, you sometimes think they are heckling you.

2. McGill University
You're McGill University!

Cold and sometimes even biting, you are capable of a tremendous bitterness. Some have been even known to call you an ice queen, or perhaps king. Those who thought they knew what frozen stares were had no idea till they met you. Though people associate this attitude, and you by extension, with France, you've actually resisted French influence quite ardently. You have often desired a royal mount.

3. I'm Bates College
Part of the civil rights movement before it was trendy, you have a long history of dedication to equality. At the same time, you're remote enough in your community that few people listen to you and some even think you're buried under a snowbank. You don't mind the ridicule, however, and have been able to take your message to other countries as well. Contrary to the worst fears of many, you have nothing to do with the name Norman or any sort of motel.

I mean sure, as a safety I can understand, but really. :)

northzax, proud White Mule.

Winter has always been hard on you, and this has often
prompted you to flee your hometown for anywhere that might be a little bit
warmer. You've also been more open to women than almost any of your local
peers, though you admit it took some time for you to come around to this
perspective. You've managed to get others to visit you as well, and have
harped on your devotion to environmental causes. Whether or not you believe
now, you were baptized.

Hail, Colby, Hail.

You come from old money, and many have even argued ill-gotten gains. This bedrock of dubious wealth upon which you sit makes privilege a natural position for you, even though you're surrounded by a buffer of backwoods poverty. This makes you gnash your teeth a bit, while some vilify you. Also vilified is your pursuit of a career in pharmaceuticals. Your favorite computer was a Commodore.

You're Chapman University!
While you associate your foundation with oranges and a mild climate, you have become a bit of a traveler and even an expansionist over time. Now you're all but scattered to the winds, with pockets of influence in a variety of places, especially the suburbs. Many have wondered if you're spreading yourself too thin, and you probably secretly suspect that you are. But your favorite show is still "The OC"

The OC? yeah right.

It's not that you haven't been able to settle down and be quite successful, but you yearn for the days of agitation and revolution. You're fond of the old comic Bloom County, as well as the more recent Outland. The rest of your life looks like a struggle between your prestige and your radical nature. You love your mama, Jesus, and America too. But rather than finding yourself in free-fall, you've been on the rise lately, as people have flocked to see you. With a surprisingly long and storied heritage in your past,
you are more impressive than many would think to give you credit for. At
the same time, it does sound like you spent a lot of time playing with
legos. Now you're hoping to help provide opportunities for those who
haven't traditionally had access to resources. Though this is noble, you
have done much to shun the concept of nobility in your past. You're one
of those people who doesn't really pronounce the letter H.

The weird thing is...I actually dated a girl who studied there for a semester. I'd rather be Sarah Lawrence though. My favorite poet teaches there and my one friend had her as his MFA advisor. Damn him!

Taking great pride in being the first on your block, you have often been seen as a leader in your community. Though often called upon to lead and even make statements, your posture is terrible. In the old days, you used to cheer for waves as they crashed
on the beach. Now, you've just been crushed by them. There are many regrets
that go along with this process, but now you're hoping for many happy
returns. After all you've been through, it's tough convincing people that
you're safe to hang out with, but you like to remind them of your aspirations
to be a doctor. You want to save people, but first you have to save

You're the University of Texas!
You claim to be bigger and better than your peers, and you're definitely bigger. A whole lot bigger. Your size is intimidating to some and a sign of weakness to others. But you often disregard others' opinions, as evidenced by your flaunting of that shade of orange. You regularly watch that funky PBS music show, "Austin City Limits". In situations of extreme peer pressure, you've been known to discuss the matter of whether horses can fly.

Most everyone you run across assumes that you're Jewish. You
probably are Jewish, but even if you're not, everyone believes that you are. You've been doing a lot more research lately, though some of it is a bit worrisome and even steamy. Though you also try to keep religion out of theshadows. You're really known for being able to inspire friends. You know at least thirteen short people with brown hair named Rachel or Sarah, and you wish people would stop asking about them.

A fan of nickels and the Declaration of Independence, you
are an established member of the good old boys club. You spent a long time
trying to exclude people, but now you have managed to get a lot of
publicity for being good at publicity. Though you do have a darker side,
delving into Poe and pyromania. Some have said that you're best known for
being a bit rotund. Still, people can't wait to meet you

Though your parents wanted to name you John, they eventually changed their mind and went with something a little less conventional. This makes you stand out more than you otherwise might have, especially in the crowded and busy place that you live. You love to read about religion. You've always had a strange fantasy about hauling pigs in pickup trucks. Allegedly, you like to hang out in a place you call "The Land of No Safety".

Haha ~ the funniest part is that my parents really WERE going to name me John (but I surprised them by being female) and they did ultimately go with something a little less conventional. I make absolutely no comment on the pigs and pickup trucks or the "land of no safety".

If you do the quiz again, you get entirely different questions and, in my case, an entirely different result! Too funny!

You're Columbia University!
Somewhat rough and tumble, you're looking for the lion's share of whatever you can get your hands on. You feel utterly surrounded by chaos and noise, but at the same time have access to a good deal of culture and influence. In this chaotic setting, you attempt to be a bastion of relative calm. You adore staircases and once expressed a desire to paint your roof green.

A bit stuffy and pretentious, you definitely think you're superior to most of those around you. At the same time, you live in a terrible part of town and have even gone through a rather large Goth phase. Instead of trying to resolve these conflicts in a social setting, you prefer to hole up on your own and study the roots of the issues. Your basement is rather unsafe, and in your backyard you have a little gravestone marked "Fun".

that's a lot to guess about me, from like, five questions! :)

With a taste for cities and bubbly alcohol, you might at first seem to be rather cosmopolitan. In reality, though, you're a bit of a hick trying to adapt to higher class tastes. You might be able to build most anything from the ground up, but you hide some dubious skeletons in your closet. With a tinge of lingering racism and a penchant for hazing, you have a lot to work on for self-improvement. On the plus side, you were the first to go home again, proving that you can.

Bear in mind that Joel in "Risky Business" did eventually get into Princeton: 'Princeton could use a man like Joel!"

You're Howard University!
An advocate for affirmative action and equality, you have deep roots in the African-American community. You've always felt under-represented and your associations with the city of Washington DC do little to overturn that feeling. After all, they do have "Taxation Without Representation" on their license plates! Sometimes, it seems, you just have to represent yourself. Your favorite song is Bob Marley's "Buffalo Soldier".

While you maintain that entertainment is more important than politics, you've always had just a bit of a chip on your shoulder about being south of the best. But you carry so many similarities to your friend in the north that you try not to think about it too much of the time. Had you been around for the Trojan War, you would have fought on the side of Odysseus. You really used to be unstoppable on the basketball court, but that feels like forever ago. No matter what, you always have something brewin'.

You're Clatsop Community College!
While you seem to offer a bit of an opportunity to some,
hanging out with you for any length of time can be depressing drudgery. Your
heart appears to be in the right place, but sometimes you can be vicious to
those who would stand to gain the most from your generosity. You were
especially vicious in 1991. You love the Lewis and Clark expedition and
absurdly wide rivers. But more than anything, you are fascinated by the
process of welding.

TAKE THAT, you snobby intellectual liberal wankers!

what's funny is that after about 4 questions, it's pretty easy to guess where it's going, and predict the answer. good algorithms.

You love your mama, Jesus, and America too. But rather than finding yourself in free-fall, you've been on the rise lately, as people have flocked to see you. Of all the wars that have been fought, you felt the Revolutionary War was most justified. Cherish is a word you use to describe all the feelings you have deep inside. If you were a book, it would be Charlotte's Web.

No I would not be Charlotte's dumb ole Web. But yes, I do feel the R war was justified.

Ancient in your perspective, wise in your judgment, and revered by your peers, you command respect. You know more about speaking English than perhaps anyone you could imagine. This reverence has made you a bit stodgy, however, and there are those who say you've outgrown your own legacy. Nevertheless, many consider it an honor just to spend time with you. You have been down many roads, but it seems that all roads lead to you.

While you've always been considered to be one of the top people around, you've long been labeled as the sidekick to the top person. This role of playing second fiddle has made you quite jealous over the years, but there's really very little you can do to escape it. You may be just the slightest bit more relaxed than your pal, and would rather speak Hebrew than Latin, if for no other reason than it's a living language. If you're in the new haven, you'd hate to see the old one.

That is SO not me though ;-)

You're the University of Washington!
A visionary for your area, you truly can see it all. At the same time, you used to be prone to burning out and trying to do it all. You have to remember that you're just one person, and can't be responsible for a whole community. But this is a lesson you've managed to learn long ago and now you rely on all sorts of people. Many of them really enjoy looking at you. Even though it seems like an out-of-date phrase, you're a big fan of dubbing things.

You're the University of California, San Diego!
With a sunny disposition and an almost unwavering feel for life, you come across as remarkably stable to others. This calm disposition has helped you establish yourself well ahead of many who are much older than you are. Still, you maintain a reverence for many figures of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Who wants Trident? You do, you do! Sometimes you think the trees are talking to you. Life's a beach.

"You're the Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art!
Though people think of shoe-makers when they first hear of you, you're actually more interested in buildings. It's a shame that the one you live in lacks the creativity and potential you see in future structures. Artistic yet organized, you strike others as strange and off the beaten path. A seemingly infinite number of paths cross yours every day. Your love don't cost a thing.

I like my house, well enough, so that part is bit off. But, i think the rest is not so far from the mark.
