9. Second for Spitfire Grill. That movie makes me cry every time.
Had not really thought of it as a "chick flick"....

2. hmm...
hard to say...I don't care to much for chick flicks, but The Color Purple was a powerful movie...so, I go with that one.

4. "Teenaged Lesbian Callgirls"
Volume 3.

Though Love Actually was most definitely a ripping yarn -- is it truly a 'chick flick'?

6. Love Actually's on the list
But I think my favorite is "While You Were Sleeping". Peter Boyle was terrific, as well as the rest of the cast. And the late Jack Warden... Sandra Bullock was at her confused, charming best.

7. I like older, classic "Chick Flicks"
For wit: The Women, Philadelphia Story, All About Eve

Bring out the hankies: Now Voyager, All This & Heaven Too, Love Affair (Charles Boyer & Irene Dunne in the superior original, remade as An Affair to Remember & later as something with the ever-annoying Meg Ryan)

Would movies based on Jane Austen's novels be considered "Chick Flicks"? I'd say yes. And I'd include "Clueless."

Dr. Zhivago, The Way We Were, An Officer and a Gentlemen, Out of Africa, Thelma and Louise, The Prince of Tides, Sense and Sensibility, Howard's End and Love Actually. Edit to add Murphy's Romance. Love all these movies and could watch them over and over again....
