Good Wednesday Morning, Crew!
Edited on Wed Jul-26-06 05:09 AM by Random_Australian

Goooooood morning everyone! How does this day find you? For me, my flatmate and I are cooking up a feast for tea (Which is Aussie for 'dinner' or 'evening meal') :bounce: and I am certainly looking forward to it! :D

How is everyone?

Well, honestly, DU seems a bit stressed, so to my part to make you all feel better there will be many, many songs of the day today!

Post your own favourite song too!

It's a musical day today!

The three best songs of the day are "Komm, susser Todd" (Come, sweet Death), a strange song sung while the world ended, "Shine On You Crazy Diamond" by Pink Floyd about their lost band member Syd Barret (who died this month) from just too much LSD too habitually, and the third song is "The Hallelujah Chorus" by Wal George Frederick Handel.

***Disclaimer*** A lot if this music sings praises to Christ and whatnot. I happen to be an atheist, so no worries, I am not trying to put my view on anyone through song. :)

Your other songs today are "Air" #40 by Bach, "Jesu, Joy Of Mans Desiring" by varied, "Sing For The Moment" by eminem, "Hall Of The mountain King" by Grieg, "The White Tree" from Lord Of The Rings 3, "Bridge over troubled waters" By Simon and Garfunkel, "Zombie" by the Cranberries, "Sunday Bloody Sunday" By U2, and "Losing My Religion" & "Everybody hurts" by REM, "Albatross" by fleetwood mac, and "Hear my prayer, O Lord" by Henry Purcell, and "The twenty third Psalm" by Franz Schubert.

Check in, Crew, it is time to start the day!

6. Good Morning Wild!
Come one wild, just one more hour, you can make it.... why won't time go faster? I know the feeling.

Anyway, may you soon (in about ten hours) be not-tired and loving life. (2 hours to get home and eat & take care of things, 8 to sleep was the thought there).

Thanks for the compliment! And as for the idjits, I suggest either using a completely shit practical joke, OR laughing insanely as a stampede of wild horses mushes their workstations as they flee in terror. That would teach them.... so, got any spare horses with you?

There are nine parts to the song after all. :P

Excellent choice BTW. Pink Floyd is my favorite group.

5. Good Morning Buffy!
Parts 1-7, but really, I don't mind as long as it contains the line "Come on you target for faraway laughter, come on you stranger, you legend, you martyr and shine" My favourite line, as you might have guessed.

What did you think of the 'other side' you thought you would get to see of me?

9. Hey wow! That is a pretty good idea!
No, I am serious. How am I to understand the religious if I have never prayed? I might just try that.

No need to run though. :)

Mind you, I will have to pick some time when my mind is exceptionally stable... those religious things get out of hand sometimes.

(By explanation, I do get quite a few of what they call "religious experiences" ... you know, when they fall down and pray to Jesus and become converts.... note the 'they' in that. I will say nothing of how genuine I think theirs, but through experimentation I am really, really sure mine are not real. So I listen to religious music as an outlet, as they are 'safe' ways to induce a mild religious feeling, which I rather like the feel of.... I suppose since I have no coffee nor alcohol or drugs I need some brain modifyer.)

(P.S. Now I think about it, 'did' not 'do' get religious experiences. I am very stable now, and it is all self done. I am quite proud of that)

14. Brain modifier, eh?

At least the fundies admit god is a drug. :P

You could always try Scientology. I hear every one of their magical tonics has wormwood in it. That should give you a real brain modification.

I've been a Christian and none of my "religious experiences" were half as spiritual as walking on a beach, seeing children at play or cuddling a furry animal. I guess I just never found the spiritual in the traditional things.

21. Scientology? Hell no.
I can't even drink, and these gimboids are gonna give me wormwood?

In fact, I am adding a new other song of the day, especially for the scientologists, the appropriately named South Park song "Uncle Fucker". :)

:bounce:

Oooh! Oooh! Have you seen the movie "The Life Of Brian" by the people from Monty Python?

23. Anyway, why not just absorb about
300 hundred thousand tons of atmospheric CO2 and plunge the earth into a new ice age? That would solve your problems, all right.

Lemme guess, you don't have room in the house for the 300 000 tonnes. No-one does these days. Silly small houses. :)

Schiller, Friedrich (1759-1805)

Freude schφner Gφtterfunken

Freude, schφner Gφtterfunken, Tochter aus Elysium!
Wir betreten feuertrunken, Himmlische, dein Heiligtum.
Deine Zauber binden wieder, was die Mode streng geteilt,

Freude heiίt die starke Feder in der ewigen Natur;

Brόder, fliegt von euren Sitzen, wenn der volle Rφmer kreist;

54. Sheesh, it was just a throw-together of ingredients from the sharehouse.
the marinade for the chicken (This serves 2) was just

2 tsp soy sauce
2 tsp kecap manis
3 tsp water
2 tsp oil
2 tsp honey

on some thigh fillets

the potato just had a little garlic and salt and pepper to taste (garlic and butter actually, otherwise the garlic does not work)

the broccoli was steamed

the peas & carrots were microwaved

the fruit was just chopped up and put with ice cream.

That is all, it is very simple.

I'm not at all surprised that you've heard RA's song selections. You're quite versed music wise. I'm running late, slept in this morning. And now I've really gotta move. Have to pack my lunch, and then I'm outta here.

Wishing you a great day, and try to stay dry.

33. Morning RA
Just popped in to say Hi. I'm running late, just couldn't drag myself out of bed. Then I realized it was recycle day/garbage day and I really had to move. But I made it.

Interesting how you've taken great pains to get the flavor of Clint's morning thread. You're doing just fine, and we like you just the way you are.

Gotta say howdy to MissH and then I'm outta here. Wishing you a fine "tea".

"Stokowsky Conducts Bach"... THE BEST! I've had the record forever and don't remember where I got it. I recently downloaded a newer, slightly different, album from iTunes (also Stokowsky). :loveya:

Mine is from a show that went to great lengths to get great music. "Komm" was played as the world ended. In fact, it won Japanese grammies, I hear.

Check your pm! (in a minute)

My dad is dying of Motor Neurone Disease/Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis/Lhou Gherigs Disease. Yours?

(If it is not too personal a topic)

If it is, well, what is your favourite song?

56. just age.
he's 94.

he can't walk -- he has been very, very ill for most of the last year and required my attention at every moment.

i have hospice now -- and morphine and such to keep him out of pain --

the hardest thing has been that he has not been happy -- and my dad has always been an easy going guy -- with always a ready smile.

and that's not been him lately.

85. Good day, RandoM!
I'm having a listen to the White Tree right this minute. I'm enjoying the choral component of the music. I'm a chorister myself and I think voices add a wonderful element to the orchestra in classically structured pieces.

I can't thank you enough for your timely word of caution yesterday. As a direct result, I was NOT run down by a truck shortly after 3:00pm my time or your time.

Enjoy a fantabulous tea!
