12. My friend Kari has survived colon cancer and a violent rape....

and is an incredibly strong person. Because of the colon cancer, she now has an illiostomy bag. She's a great cook and a great coworker and she's funny as all hell. This week she's testifying in court against the asshole who raped her (he's a serial offender in this regard) and she needs all the support she can get.
